Is Zamzam Safe

In Arabic, Zamzam is referred to as Murwtya Shabba i.e. the Quenched and Satisfying. Prophet (P.B.U.H) has said Zamzam is not just water it is the Nourishing Food, cure for the illness, and has Healing Properties as well. Due to this Muslims across the globe Consumes the Zamzam water and also purchase the Zamzam water for their loved ones.

Zamzam is the Blessed Water for Muslims. Zamzam was actually the Well that was located in the Makah but now there are Zamzam Taps presented in and around the Kaaba. However, the Zamzam well is Still Present but nobody is allowed to visit there. Zamzam water is the Purest Water and has certain benefits as per the Quran. The revelation of Zamzam water has a long history to which Ibn Abbas narrated, by the will of Allah Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) was Ordered to take her wife Hajar (A.S) and His son Ismail (A.S) to Makah. On reaching Makah, Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) was ordered to keep them there and return back to home. Prophet Ibrahim (A.S) left Some Dates and Water with Hajar (A.S) and with his son Ismail (A.S) and left for the Home. During that time, Makah was just a Desert were no life or anything else was present. After a few days in Makah, Hajar (A.S) and Ismail (A.S) Ran Out Of Water and dates. As the temperature was hot and humid Ismail (A.S) felt Thirsty and began to cry. On seeing this mother Hajar (A.S) started looking for water. She began to run on the Hills which are known as Safa and Marwa but there were no traces of water. When she was running between hills Ismail (A.S) began kicking the ground due to a Miserable Situation. During this, Hajar (A.S) noticed that Ismail (A.S) stopped crying, on coming back she saw the water flowing from the spot where Ismail (A.S) was kicking the ground. She quickly began to feed the Ismail (A.S) as he was thirsty. The water that starts flowing is known as Zamzam Water (The most blessed and the pious water).

However, BBC raised many health issues regarding the consumption of Zamzam water. According to them the high content of serum arsenic and nitrate in Zamzam water can be the cause of cancer. After long research, it was found that the Zamzam water is Harmless besides high content of Serum Arsenic and Nitrate. It was revealed that Zamzam water is Pathogen-free, regular consumption of Zamzam water decreases the serum cholesterol and serum triglycerides. It also reveals that the Zamzam water is the Safest Water as compared to the other drinking waters. In conclusion, Zamzam water was Considered the best water as compared to that of other water with no harmful effects even if consumed on the Daily basis.
