Umrah Dress for Male usually consists of two pieces of white clothes- unstitched and without any buttons which is known as Ihram. Ihram is a specific dress that male pilgrims have to wear for Umrah as it signifies that all are the same in front of the creator. Once you do Niyat of performing Umrah you have to Wear Ihram and should remain in the state of Ihram until your Umrah gets completed. As Ihram consists of two pieces of white cloth one-piece of cloth is known as Izar and the other half is known as Rida both the pieces are of same length so you can use it easily. Izar- is used for wrapping the Lower Body i.e. from navel to the ankle whereas Rida- is used as a Drape that covers the Shoulders. The Left and the right shoulder should always be covered with the rida but during Tawaf the right shoulder should remain bare. However, once your Umrah gets completed you can wear any sort of clothes but most probably you should wear modest clothes as you are in the House of Allah (Baitullah).

Can You Wear Anything Under Ihram

Men are not allowed to wear anything beneath the Ihram neither the underwear nor the socks and also they must keep their Heads Uncovered. You should also make sure that the ankle, toes, and heels are not covered and you should wear footwear that exposes your toes and ankle as wearing proper Ihram cloth is an essential part of Performing Umrah as it signifies that All Men Are Equal in front of the Allah no matter about their power, status or anything.

Can You Wear Belt with Ihram

Belts are of two types, one that is prescribed by the doctor can be worn on the Ihram and the other acts as a pouch as well as holds the Ihram. The Belt with the Pouch can be used to tie the Ihram as well as can be used to keep your Currency and other Documents with you while performing Umrah. So both the belts are permissible to wear on Ihram.

Clothes after Umrah

If you are performing Umrah in the hotter months then you need to pack the clothes which would be comfortable and breathable because the temperature of Saudi Arabia usually remains hot and humid. So the best option is to pack light weighted cotton clothes that too by avoiding dark colour clothes such as black or any other darker colour clothes because these colours absorb more heat. However, if you are performing Umrah in the winter session then you should carry a lightweight sweater or shawl not more than that because the winds are cooler only in Medina that too in the morning and evening. Apart from that the weather usually remains calm and sunny.
