Where Is The Miqat For Umrah

Miqat is a place or Boundary where pilgrims has to Wear Ihram and make intentions or Niyat of performing Umrah. There are different Miqats for the Umrah pilgrims travelling from different states or Countries. The Prophet (S.A.W) himself specified places for people coming from within and outside this division to perform Umrah and Hajj. Umrah Pilgrims from any corner of the world travelling to Makah for Umrah/Hajj pass through the Miqat either by aeroplane or by bus so once you reach the Miqat you have to wear Ihram and need to do the intentions of Umrah. If you are coming in aeroplane than you need to wear Ihram at the airport from where you are departing because in aeroplane there is not enough space to put Ihram so better remains to wear the Ihram at the airport before boarding and once you reach the Miqat there is a Proper Announcement in-plane or the Umrah Guide along with you makes the announcement on reaching the Miqat. However, if you are travelling by bus then you can wear Ihram on reaching Miqat because the bus stops at Miqat. Once you reach the Miqat make Intentions or Niyat of Umrah, after making the Niyat of Umrah now you are in a State Of Umrah and will remain in the same state till the end of Umrah rituals.

How many Miqat in Makkah

Typically there are 5 Miqat from where pilgrims can make Niyat or Intention of performing Umrah/Hajj and need to Wear The Attire of Umrah i.e. Ihram these are as below:
1. Yalamlam Miqat: This is the Miqat for the pilgrims who are travelling from Yemen, India, Pakistan, China, South Africa, Nigeria, Japan And Those Pilgrims Coming From The South.
2. Al-Juhfah: This Miqat is also known as Rabigh. This is the Miqat for the pilgrims who are travelling from North America, North Africa, Jordan, Lebanon, Europe, Turkey, Syria, Egypt, Algeria, Sudan and several other African countries.
3. Dhat Irq: This is the Miqat for the pilgrims who are travelling from Iraq, Iran, China, and Russia and for the pilgrims who are coming from the same route or from Makkah to Kufa.
4. Qarn Al-Manazil (Miqat Taif): This Miqat is also known as Al Sail Al Kabir. This is the Miqat for the pilgrims who are travelling from U.A.E, Oman, Pakistan, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Najd, Riyadh, Dammam, and Khobar.
5. Dhul Hulayfah: This Miqat is also known as Abyar Ali. This Miqat is for the pilgrims who are travelling from Medina or for the people of Medina.
